Ingredients
medium Golden Delicious or Jonagold apples
orange
medium lemon
package dried fruit
package dried Calimyrna figs
1/2 c. sugar
Cinnamon Stick
cinnamon
Directions
  1. Peel, core and cut each apple into 16 wedges. Peel orange and lemon into 1-inch-wide strips with a vegetable peeler. Squeeze 2 Tbsp. juice from lemon (refrigerate peeled orange for another use).
  2. In 4-quart saucepan over high heat, bring apples, orange and lemon peels, lemon juice, mixed dried fruit, figs, sugar, cinnamon stick and 3 cups water to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes, until apples are tender.
  3. Pour into bowl and refrigerate at least 4 hours. Serve chilled, warm or at room temperature, garnished with cinnamon.
