Grab Your Passport! A Wine Theme Park Is Opening In France
Trust the French to open a theme park for adults totally dedicated to wine. After 7 years of conception and construction, La Cité du Vin is set to open next week in Bordeaux wine country.
Set on the bank of Bordeaux‘s Garonne River, La Cité du Vin literally means “the city of wine” and features rides like a simulated boat journey, tasting sessions led by experts and the opportunity to purchase wine from over 80 countries.
The most magnificent part of La Cité du Vin, however, has to be its amazing architecture. The architects of the 10-story building “designed a space shaped by symbols of identity: gnarled vine stock, wine swirling in a glass…Every detail of the architecture evokes wine’s soul and liquid nature.”
If you’re keen to make like the French and become a wine connoisseur, you’ll have to wait until June 1st when La Cité du Vin opens its doors with a general admission ticket for about . Cheers to that.
